| MCRMC - Call In Pay |
From: Karen Bathanti Date: Fri, 05 Nov 2010 17:12:48 -0400 To: Vickie Kasper; Sandra Sulflow Subject: On Call This e-mail is a follow up to our recent conversations in which we resolved the parties’ “call in” pay dispute. To confirm, for the term of the current contract, when RNs in on call status are called in to work outside their scheduled shift, they will receive a minimum of 4 hours pay, except as provided in Article 18, Section 8C. Examples of how the Medical Center will handle this both before and after a regular shift follow. Before Shift An on call RN called into to work an hour before the start of her scheduled shift will receive 4 hours of pay for having been called in early plus pay for all hours worked on the shift. After Shift An on call RN asked to stay over after completion of her shift will be paid for the hours worked on the shift. If she works 45 minutes or less after the shift, she will be paid for the additional time worked. If she works more than 45 minutes after the shift, she will receive at least 4 hours of pay for having been asked to stay over or pay for all additional time worked, whichever is greater. As we also discussed, retroactive to the effective date of the current contract, the Medical Center will review payroll records to determine if any RNs have been paid less that provided for under our resolution. If so, the Medical Center will make them whole for the wages they would have received under the above examples. In exchange, the Union has agreed to take all actions necessary to withdraw Grievance 1-53 and Grievance 10-56, and NLRB Case 7-CA-53178, all with prejudice. |

AFL-CIO AMERICA WANTS TO WORK |
|
 |
This week already is shaping up to be huge, with actions everywhere demanding good jobs for working families, paid for with fair taxes for millionaires and Wall Street.
Occupy Wall Street protests, which really took off over the weekend, will continue in cities from coast to coast.
And the AFL-CIO America Wants to Work national week of action starts today. This is a not-to-be-missed moment to get out and attend an event in your community.
We’re sponsoring a wide variety of activities, from vigils to teach-ins on college campuses, demonstrations outside job-outsourcing corporations and press events. In many places, we’ll join the Occupy Wall Street protests that have sprung up and are growing, from Hawaii to Washington, D.C.
Working people will come together in hundreds of events through Oct. 16 to demand action from Congress to promote a real jobs creation agenda and real shared sacrifice from Wall Street and the rich. Find an event near you.
And college students across the country will gather on Wednesday, Oct. 12, for a live national teach-in with events on campuses from 7–8:30 p.m. EDT. Find a teach-in location near you here. Or, watch it live Wednesday night at: http://go.aflcio.org/teachin.
Whatever you do this week, don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of something big. Here are some ways to get involved:
