Brothers and Sisters,
We are happy to share some exciting news following our recent collective efforts!
Thanks to your unity and determination in standing together, collecting over 100 signatures within 24 hours and Friday's sticker action, we reached a significant milestone: we successfully signed a Letter of Understanding (LOU) with Ascension to reinstate critical pay!
Here are the key highlights of the agreement:
- Day Shift (Monday–Friday): An additional $10 per hour, excluding Labor & Delivery, which will receive an increased rate of $20 per hour.
- Nights and Weekends: Critical pay will restart at an additional $20 per hour for approved shifts.
While we celebrate this victory, we recognize that the $10 increase is not enough. We got what we wanted and reinstated critical pay for day shifts, but this is just the beginning. Moving forward, we will continue to push for higher and fairer critical pay across the board.
Bargaining surveys are now closed. Union leadership was able to conduct additional rounds of discussions last week. We are actively hearing your concerns and questions regarding negotiations and will be negotiating with Ascension tomorrow, 8/21/24. We will provide a detailed update for our membership following this important meeting.
Thank you for your involvement and support during this important initiative, we could not have done it without each other. Let’s keep this momentum going as we continue to fight for a fair contract!
